A Steamy Monday!

Finding Inspiration in: Beach/Pool Gear!

Hi there! Happy Monday! It’s supposed to be 97 degrees in Northern Michigan today, and there is only one thing to do when that happens – seek water.

If you’re anything like me, I can’t go anywhere without a snack… and a drink… and a change of clothes… and then I add my toddler and all of his snacks, drinks, clothes and toys… that’s a lot of stuff to haul around! Which makes this GIANT cloth beach bag by Gretchen Scott Designs perfect (and their tunics are adorable too!). With shoulder length handles (kids and short handles? bad idea) this beach bag is soft and pliable – and washable too. It’s perfect for hauling everything you need (and don’t need) to the beach or the pool!

I don’t know how many times I’ve ended up with a wet checkbook because of a soggy swimsuit in my purse – and I’ve finally gotten my hands on a “Wet Bag” by Platinum Bay! Sold on Etsy and made by a duo of sewing sisters, these bags are made with beautiful coordinating fabrics and lined in a laminated (i.e. waterproof) polyester – perfect for anything wet (swimsuits, workout clothes or messy “accident” outfits). Keep one in your purse, your checkbook will thank you!

All the rage on the Great Lakes, Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is a great way to workout and stay cool at the same time! It seems that everyone I know (with a proximity to water) is buying one, and I haven’t even tried it yet! I hope to this week, I’ll keep you posted!

I’ll see you soon with a shower recap from this past weekend, a recipe idea for fresh blueberries and a gorgeous Michigan vacation destination! Until then, stay cool!
